Frequently Asked Questions
Which server location should I choose?
To ensure the best performance and lowest latency, choose the server geographically closest
to you. For example, users in the US or Canada should select North America (na1.i-librarian.net).
How does the library name work?
Your library name creates your unique access URL. It must consist only of lowercase letters
and numbers. For example, if you choose smithlab, your library will be hosted
at i-librarian.net/smithlab.
Are the user and storage amounts hard limits?
No. The "Intended number of users" and "Approximate PDF library size" fields in the signup
form are used for price estimation purposes only. They are not upper limits; your account
will scale automatically as your needs grow, and you will be billed based on your actual usage.
How do I access my library after I subscribe?
After you submit your information, we will send an automated
email to your provided address. This email contains specific instructions on how to log in
and begin uploading your PDF collection.
Is my private PDF library secure?
Yes. By creating a private library, your data is isolated. All subscriptions are governed
by our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, ensuring that your research materials and
personal information remain confidential and protected.
Can I switch between Pro and Lite plans?
Yes. You can upgrade from Lite to Pro or downgrade from Pro to Lite at any time.
Please contact our support team to adjust your subscription level; your billing
will be updated automatically to reflect the new rate.
Can I run my own backups?
Yes. We believe you should always have control over your data. We provide SFTP access
to your library, allowing you to download your PDFs and database files to your local hardware
whenever you wish.
How do I cancel my subscription?
If you wish to close your account, please contact our support. We will help
you ensure your data is exported safely before the service is terminated. Once canceled,
you will not be billed for the next cycle.
Who owns the data in my library?
You do. I, Librarian acts only as a host for your PDF collection. We do
not claim any ownership over your uploaded documents or metadata, and we do not share your
data with third parties.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express). Subscriptions are billed
monthly. Enterprise customers have an option to pay annually using bank transfers.
